National Security Advisor to the US President Jake Sullivan announced that the American side will introduce additional sanctions against Iran in the coming days.
According to Sullivan, these sanctions will affect Iran's missile and drone programs. In addition, it is planned to introduce new sanctions against structures supporting the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and the Iranian Ministry of Defense.
Washington expects that US allies and partners will also introduce their own sanctions against Tehran, Sullivan said.
"These new sanctions and other measures are intended to continue sustained pressure to contain and reduce the effectiveness of Iran's military capabilities and to counter the full range of its (...) activities," Sullivan said.
The United States will also continue to work to further strengthen and expand the integration of air defense, missile defense and early warning systems in the Middle East, the National Security Adviser to the American President emphasized.
