How to make valuable vinegar from black elderberry?
Homemade elderberry vinegar can be prepared both from berries and from the remains after squeezing juice from them. It is great, especially for those who struggle with high blood pressure.
To prepare it, you should arm yourself not only with patience, but also with a large jar with a capacity of at least 2 liters, cheesecloth, a rubber band and a glass.
Ingredients:
4 cups of elderberry
4 tablespoons of honey
5 glasses of water
2 tablespoons of vinegar
apple
Carefully peel the elderberries and place them in water with baking soda. Then rinse them again. At this stage, you can squeeze the elderberry juice. Use the remaining fruits for this. Transfer them to a pre-sterilized glass jar. Then add honey mixed with water. Pour the resulting mixture over the berries.
Add apple pieces and vinegar. If the fruits protrude above the water level, press down with a glass or plate. Stir with a clean wooden spoon. Cover the jar with cheesecloth and secure with a rubber band. Then leave the mixture for about 3 weeks.
Watch and stir the mixture daily. If a thin film forms on top, don't worry. If the foam is moldy, everything must be poured out.
Pour the vinegar prepared in this way through a filter into clean bottles. You can store it in a cool and dark place - you don't need to put it in the refrigerator.
