The FBI is concerned about the possibility of an organized attack in the United States similar to the terrorist attack committed by ISIS at the Crocus concert hall in Russia.
This is stated in the prepared statement of FBI Director Christopher Ray for the House of Representatives, RBC-Ukraine reports with reference to Reuters, informs UAINFO.org.
The growing concern is "the possibility of a coordinated attack here, in our country, similar to the ISIS-K attack we saw at the Russia concert hall a couple of weeks ago," he said.
Wray also plans to press lawmakers to restore the U.S. surveillance program, which expires this month, calling it an indispensable tool against U.S. adversaries. Revision of that program was blocked by the House amid concerns from members of both parties that it did not go far enough in limiting the government's surveillance powers.
"This is critical to the security of our country, and we are going through a crisis," Ray plans to tell the US Congress.
