Scientists from the USA put an end to the question of whether it is harmful to eat at night

There is a belief that the main part of calories should be consumed before lunch. It is believed that then they are spent during the day and are not stored in fat. Specialists from the USA have found out whether this is so.

Scientists conducted tests with volunteers, Insider writes. There were 41 of them in total, and everyone was overweight. Everyone was offered the same menu. At the same time, one group ate 80% of calories from the morning until one o'clock in the afternoon, the second - consumed 50% of the daily norm of calories after five in the evening. The experiment lasted three months.

As a result, experts came to the conclusion that the time of eating does not affect weight loss or weight maintenance. All volunteers had approximately the same result in terms of weight loss and blood pressure levels, while the scientists argued that evening meals are often associated with unhealthy food choices, such as alcohol, processed meats, and others.

Hence the prejudice that eating in the evening is harmful. If a person watches his diet, the position of the hand on the clock is not important for him, the daily caloric intake is more important.
