Israel has threatened Iran with retaliation in the event of an attack

 Earlier, Iran said it would strike Israel in response to the attack on its consulate in Syria.

The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Israel, Israel Katz, warned Iran that in the event of an attack, the country would retaliate.

Earlier, the Iranian spiritual leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, said that Iran will take revenge for the attack on the consulate in the Syrian capital, Damascus, which took place on April 1.

"If Iran attacks from its territory, Israel will react and attack in Iran," the head of the Israeli Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
