The People's Republic of China is willing to work closely with North Korea's legislature to help relations reach a "higher level."
This was stated by the Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress Zhao Leji, RBC-Ukraine reports with reference to Reuters.
“Maintaining, strengthening and developing relations between China and the DPRK has always been our strategic unwavering policy,” Zhao quoted Chinese President Xi Jinping as saying during a meeting with North Korean politician Choi Ren Hae.
Chinese support for Russia
China officially condemns Russia's aggression against Ukraine and advocates a peaceful resolution to the war.
In October 2023, the US Department of Defense announced that China was supplying Russia with weapons. In particular, they talked about drones, small arms and equipment.
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi assured his Ukrainian counterpart Dmitry Kuleba that Beijing does not supply lethal weapons to Russia.
The United States warned China against helping Russia in the war against Ukraine. In response, the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs urged not to shift responsibility for cooperation with Russia onto the country.
