Scientists have explained how to improve mental state in seconds

EVERYTHING TURNED OUT TO BE SIMPLE.

Scientists from the University of South Australia recruited a group of volunteers for practical experience.

The "subjects" were ordered to clamp a pencil between the teeth of the upper and lower jaw, simulating a smile with their facial muscles. The results of the experiment revealed that the musculature affects not only facial expressions, but also the body in general, causing more positive emotions, reports Experimental Psychology.

Scientists note that for this it is not necessary to feel real joy, a smile has a positive effect in any case.

The experts gave an explanation of the phenomenon - when a person specially stretches his mouth in a smile, it stimulates the amygdala - a part of the brain that is responsible for releasing neurotransmitters to achieve an emotionally positive state. As a result, a smiling person has more chances for positive emotions.
