On the morning of April 2, the Russian authorities announced a drone attack in Tatarstan. It is reported that the target of the attack was “enterprises in Elabuga and Nizhnekamsk.”

Later, the Interfax agency reported: “Two people were injured on Tuesday morning as a result of a drone strike on a dormitory in the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) “Alabuga” in the Yelabuga region of Tatarstan, the SEZ press service reported. “Today at 5:45 am the strike was carried out at the Alabuga hostel with two drones. (...) These drones were equipped with equipment from NATO countries. Two people were injured,” the report said.
Subsequently, it became known that seven were injured or killed, including adults and teenagers.
Let us recall that it is in Tatarstan, in “Alabuga” - a special economic zone of industrial production type in the Yelabuga region - that there is a plant for the production of drones "Geran-2/1" (analogues of the Iranian "Shahed-136/131"), which the Russian Army constantly uses for attacks on civilian and military targets in Ukraine.
Based on available information, these companies, which employ not only adult workers but also students, were the target of today's attack.
Elabuga is located approximately 1,400 km from the border with Ukraine.
