Italian fighter jets intercepted Russian planes over the Baltic Sea

 Eurofighters of the Italian Air Force, which are stationed at the Malbork base in Poland, took to the air twice in the last day due to Russian planes.

This was reported by the ANSA agency.

It is noted that the presence of Russian aircraft over the international waters of the Baltic Sea was recorded.

The signal about the detection of an unknown aircraft came from the NATO command center in Udem (Germany) the day before and on Friday. Following this signal, Italian planes from the 4th Wing task force took off. According to ANSA, after recognizing the planes, the fighters returned to the base. No incidents have been reported.

The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation stated that all flights of Russian military aircraft are carried out in strict accordance with international rules for the use of airspace.
