Biden accused Trump of supporting Putin

On the morning of Friday, March 8, Kyiv time, President Joe Biden delivered a State of the Union address to the US Congress.

"Today we are facing an unprecedented moment. I want to speak to Congress to wake them up. And to tell people that these are not ordinary times. Not since Lincoln and the Civil War have there been such blows to democracy and freedom around the world. Putin's Russia attacked Ukraine... If anyone thinks that Putin will stop in Ukraine, he is wrong," Joe Biden said, writes Espresso.

After these words, the US Congress began to applaud Biden.

Biden also accused Donald Trump of supporting Vladimir Putin.

"But Ukraine can stop Putin if we stand together with Ukraine and provide it with the necessary weapons. And this is all that Ukraine is asking for. They are not asking for our soldiers, and there is not a single American soldier in Ukraine. I am determined to make it so. But now aid to Ukraine is being blocked by those who want to withdraw from world leadership," the American president said in Congress.

"My predecessor, the former republican president, tells Putin: do whatever the hell you want. This was said by the former president, he supported the Russian leader. I think this is terrible and unacceptable," said Biden, after which loud applause began again in the hall.

"My message to President Putin, whom I have known for a long time, is simple: we will not leave! We will not give up! I will not give up," Joe Biden assured of his support for Ukraine.

Joe Biden devoted a large part of his speech to economic issues. According to the US president, their economy is the strongest in the world. The American leader also mentioned Israel, assured of support, and congratulated Sweden on joining NATO.

At the same time, Biden said that he is ready to sign the law on the border, which the Republicans are so demanding.
