Poland will increase the number of troops on the eastern border due to the threat from the Russian Federation

The Minister of Defense of Poland Władysław Kosiniak-Kamys informed that Warsaw decided to increase the number of its troops in the east in the border areas due to the threat from the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus.

Strengthening the presence of the army is foreseen in the Warmian-Masurian, Podlaskie, Lublin, and Subcarpathian voivodeships.

The head of the defense department emphasized that "this is our meaning of existence."

Kosiniak-Kamysh also added that last week a meeting of the Committee on National Security was held, during which the situation on the Polish-Belarusian border was discussed, as well as the increase in the number of attempts to cross the border illegally.
