In Russia, a fire broke out at the transformer substation of the Novocherkassk DRES (state district power plant) at night, the governor of the Rostov region, Vasyl Golubev, said.
He did not inform about the causes of the fire, noting that they are being established.
According to him, due to the fire, the 330 kV high-voltage lines - Tikhoretska and Rostovska - were automatically disconnected, and two DRES power units were temporarily taken out of operation.
As the Baza Telegram channel writes with reference to eyewitnesses, the power plant was attacked by drones. According to preliminary data, several drones took part in the attack on the power plant. Probably the first of them tried to attack at 2:30 in the morning.
At the same time, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation accused Ukraine of UAV attacks on objects on the territory of the Russian Federation, claiming that 11 drones over the territory of the Rostov region were allegedly intercepted.
