UNRWA Commissioner-General Philip Lazzarini said that the Israeli authorities have announced that they will no longer allow food convoys of the UN agency for Palestine refugees into the northern Gaza Strip.
He wrote about this on his page in the social network Kh.
"Despite the tragedy unfolding before our eyes, the Israeli authorities have informed the UN that they will no longer approve any food convoys from UNRWA to the north (of the Gaza Strip - ed.)," he said.
In his opinion, this position of Israel "testifies to the deliberate obstruction of the provision of vital aid during an artificial famine."
Lazzarini called for the abolition of these restrictions.
"UNRWA is the largest organization with the greatest coverage of displaced communities in Gaza. If UNRWA is prevented from fulfilling its duty in Gaza, the clock will tick faster and more people will die of hunger, dehydration and lack of shelter," he stated.
