In the Russian regional center of Ryazan on the morning of March 13, a fire broke out at the Rosneft oil refinery, Russian telegram channels report.
“Before the fire, residents heard explosions,” reports the Astra telegram channel.
The Baza channel reports with reference to local residents who claim that at least three drones hit the plant.
“The area of the fire at the Ryazan oil refinery is 100 square meters. According to sources, the heat exchanger unit unit is on fire. Several fire brigades rushed to the scene. There are no official data yet,” adds Baza.
Astra points out that “more drones were spotted over Ryazan, and explosions were also heard.”
Russia's oil refining capacity has been reduced by multiple Ukrainian drone strikes on oil refineries across Russia, UK intelligence said in a March 9 review.
