On Saturday, March 2, in the Red Sea, the Italian Navy ship Caio Duilio eliminated a drone approaching the ship
This is reported by Reuters.
According to a statement from the Italian Ministry of Defense, the ship Caio Duilio, which helps protect trade routes from air attacks by the Yemeni Houthis, committed an act of self-defense.
It is noted that the drone with characteristics similar to those already used in previous attacks was at a distance of about 6 km from the Italian ship and was flying towards it.
Italian Defense Minister Guido Crocetto said the Houthi attacks, which are intended to show solidarity with the Palestinian militant group Hamas in the war against Israel, are part of a hybrid war strategy against some countries.
"Terrorist attacks by the Houthis are a serious violation of international law and an attack on the safety of maritime transport, on which our economy depends," Crosetto emphasized.
