Migraine is the most common neurological problem in the world, from which women suffer three times more often than men. Scientists believe that to obtain a pronounced therapeutic effect, victims of headaches need green leafy vegetables.
Migraine victims who complain of such symptoms as severe headaches, nausea, increased sensitivity to light, fainting, temporary loss of vision, and in some cases even paralysis often turn to doctors with neurological problems. Scientists know that there are more than 50 genes associated with migraines, but all the factors that contribute to the development of attacks are still unknown. It is also known that up to 6% of men and up to 18% of women suffer from migraines, which is partly explained by female hormones.
That is why migraine often begins to develop during puberty, after childbirth and menopause. Women suffer from migraines more often also due to the fact that gene mutations responsible for this disease pass through X-chromosomes, and there are twice as many of them in women than in men.
Migraine patients must pay attention to nutrition - the severity of the disease depends on it. A properly prepared diet is one of the most affordable ways to control the condition. Eating green leafy vegetables has been proven to reduce migraine symptoms. These products include folate or B vitamins, which are the most effective. So, be sure to stick to spinach, Brussels sprouts, kale, and similar foods. It is advisable to include them in your daily diet. Keep a food diary, so you can not only identify foods that relieve the condition, but also find foods that most often trigger migraine attacks.
