Accumulation of belly fat is a common problem. The reason for this lies not only in the wrong diet or lack of physical activity. Stress and lack of sleep are also of great importance.
Why does belly fat grow?
"There are reasons why belly fat grows and forms a "lifeline" around the stomach for its owners. For example, consuming a large amount of refined carbohydrates and fried food in combination with a sedentary lifestyle," says the expert.
Pavlyuk also claims that stress is also the cause of belly fat. Under the influence of stress, the hormone cortisol is produced, which affects the increase in visceral fat. That is why such a belly in women is often called "cortisol belly".
"This is also psychosomatic - during stress, belly fat acts as a lifeline, creating an "air cushion" around its owner, be it unwanted contact or discomfort from any necessary action," the nutritionist explains.
Another cause of belly fat is lack of sleep. The body also perceives it as stress. At night, the hormone somatotropin is produced, it contributes to weight loss - it accelerates the burning of fat and prevents its deposition. If there is not enough sleep, the amount of this hormone also decreases.
"I want to say right away that it is impossible to lose weight only in the waist area, it is necessary to reduce weight systematically, replacing adipose tissue with muscle tissue," Pavlyuk explains.
Measures to reduce weight and abdominal volume:
Rejection of simple carbohydrates.
Water and fiber are needed for the stable functioning of the digestive system, reducing the feeling of hunger.
Breakfasts should be complete with proteins, fats and carbohydrates, so that at lunch you do not eat everything in a row due to hunger.
Cook food, bake it, stew it, but don't fry it and don't cover it with oil.
Do cardio to boost your metabolism or walk at a moderately brisk pace.
