The US Army urgently develops a portable EW

The realities of modern warfare have proven the enormous importance of radio-electronic warfare and their miniaturization, showing that powerful complexes on mobile chassis alone cannot be dispensed with. Therefore, as early as 2023, the Pentagon launched a 120-day large-scale field study dedicated to this.

Its details remained secret, but the practical steps became known - the delivery of wearable EW complexes to the US Army in a short period of time. At the first stage, these samples should be delivered to the main training bases of the army, and then to each combat brigade of the ground forces, where they will serve for the training of personnel.

The time limits of the first stage, as Defense One writes, are set in half a year and are determined by the main priority of the Cyber Center of Excellence, which is part of the army structure and specializes in the training of specialists and the modernization of communication and communication systems.

It is not known which system will be supplied to the army, but it is outlined that two soldiers will work with a wearable complex that fits into a backpack.

Note that in English terminology, the issues of radio-electronic warfare and radio-electronic intelligence are combined into a single term - electronic warfare. Therefore, the task of the operators of such a wearable complex will be both the analysis of the radio spectrum in order to detect threats and, obviously, the creation of obstacles.

It is quite interesting that the deployment of such EW means in the US Army is really happening on wheels, and the terms of innovation for such a structure as the US Army are quite short. Moreover, the mass production and saturation of brigades with them will take place already in parallel with the training and integration of new capabilities at the lower infantry level in parallel.

It should also be noted that the complex of these measures could have started even earlier, but this is a new defense program, the funding of which was set for the 2024 American fiscal year, which started in October. But in the USA, only on March 23, parliamentarians were able to agree on the budget of the Pentagon.
