The nutritionist named the most harmful products

Rob Hobson, registered dietitian and author of Unprocess Your Life, stresses that he does not follow the principle of classifying snacks as "good" and "bad", he told the Daily Mail. However, there are specific unhealthy products that he considers particularly undesirable, NV reports, informs UAINFO.org.

Sugar flakes

Flakes for breakfast. According to him, sweet cereals, especially chocolate, are more like a dessert than a breakfast, and their consumption at the beginning of the day is not advisable because of the high sugar content, which promotes overeating.

Chips

When it comes to chips, Hobson advises to go for simpler options without excess additives, flavor enhancers and emulsifiers.

Meat delicacies

Processed meats, such as bacon, hot dogs and salami, are a source of protein, but eating them in large quantities can do more harm than good, including an increased risk of bowel cancer. Instead of processed meats, Hobson recommends opting for plant-based proteins or lean poultry, such as chicken or turkey.

Sparkling water

As for carbonated water, he advises consuming it as a rare drink or eliminating it from the diet altogether, as it can affect gut bacteria and blood glucose levels.

Pieces of processed cheese

Hobson recommends opting for slices of "real" cheese over processed options. Milk and dairy products are important sources of calcium and protein, and while cheese also contains calcium, it may contain emulsifiers used to achieve the desired texture.

"I would recommend just enjoying chunks of natural cheese to get the nutritional benefits of a more natural, less processed product," he noted, favoring cheeses like cheddar, feta and brie.

Packaged pastries

Prepackaged desserts like cakes and muffins are high in saturated fat and sugar, as well as emulsifiers, which can be detrimental to gut health. Hobson recommends opting for more natural sweets, such as pressed fruit and nut bars.
