The Americans recalled that France raised the national security alert system to the highest level
The US Embassy in France has warned of an increased terrorist threat in the country. This is stated in the press service of the agency.
According to diplomats, after the March 22 terrorist attack in the Russian suburbs of Moscow, which killed 139 people, the French government raised its Vigipirate national security alert system to the highest level.
It is emphasized that residents of France may face increased security in public places - these are airports, public transport, religious institutions, tourist facilities, as well as large sports facilities and shopping centers.
The Americans say French authorities are monitoring terrorist threats, and attacks can happen with little or no warning.
Targets can be public places with mass gatherings of people.
"Visitors to congested and popular tourist areas should be especially attentive to their surroundings. The population is advised to report any suspicious activity to law enforcement agencies," the message said.
Earlier, French President Emmanuel Macron said that the ISIS terrorist group, which claimed responsibility for the mass shooting of people in the Russian suburbs of Moscow on March 22, tried to carry out attacks in his country.
