Israel does not plan to stop offensive against Hamas, - Ministry of Defense

Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant, in response to the adoption by the UN Security Council of a ceasefire resolution in Gaza, said that Israel will not stop its offensive against Hamas.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to X Israeli Minister of Defense Yoav Galant.

According to him, the state of Israel has a "moral obligation to continue the fight until its fighters are returned and the Hamas threat is eliminated."

“The Security Council decision has no operational significance for us, and in any case we will continue to listen to our friendly relations and will always do what is right for the security of Israel,” Galant added.

He also noted that the relationship between Israel and the United States is “an anchor in Israel’s security and foreign relations,” and direct dialogue with the American administration is “an important asset” that cannot be denied. He supported what the states had made clear: the ceasefire would be maintained contingent on the return of the abductees.

Gallant also stressed the need for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to visit the United States and hold direct dialogue with President Biden and administration officials.
